Monday, June 5, 2006 was the All State outdoor track meet. Nick was lead off in the 4x800 relay. Here's a picture where he's waiting at the start. They ran 8:11 (Nick was 2:02), which got them 11th in the state.

Friday February 24th, 2006 Jessie and Jeremy went to the Back Bay Ball, at the Park Plaza in Boston. Here's a picture of Jessie, and here's one of her with Jeremy. Here she is with her three room mates.

Sunday January 29, 2006 was the Elite Indoor Relays. Nick ran in the 4 x 800 meter, in second position again. This time I tried making a movie (I missed the first lap, but watch him pass three runers!). It's just under two minutes, but that made a 120MB file. I converted it to a DivX format file which is 15MB, but not may not play on some systems. I also shrunk it and converted it to an AVI file which is 10MB (it uses the XviD CODEC). If this one won't play either then try this XviD installer for Windows.

Saturday January 21, 2006 was the MSTCA Class A Indoor Relays. Nick ran in the 4 x 800 meter, in second position. Here's a picture I took just after his handoff, which has some interesting points but is seriously clipped on the left. Another student's mother is a much better photographer, and took a shot of him rounding the corner in his first lap.

The cross country team usually does something distinctive on the school day before a meet, as a means of demonstrating their team sprit. Usually it's just wearing a tie or something similar, but this week it was bleaching their hair. Here's a picture of Nick before school with bleached hair in his suit. The big Dual County League meet was Saturday, Oct. 29th. Newton South boy's varsity just managed to win (by one point). It was really bad weather, 40 degrees and snowing. Here's a picture of the field, to give you some idea. This is of the boys waiting at the starting line, and this is just as the starting gun went off and here they're down the field. Here's Nick at about 2 miles (yes, that's snow on his head), and here he's just getting to the finish. His time was 18:06 for 5Km (3.1 miles), an average of more than 10mph (better than six minute miles).

Nick's running crosscountry again this fall. Here are three shots (1, 2, 3) from his October 1st meet, as he's passing another runner just before the finish. (I like the way both feet are off the ground in the last shot.)

Nick and Liz went to the Junior Semi on May 13th, 2005. We took some pictures when they left, but unfortunately the camera wasn't set to focus properly, so they're a bit blurry. I've made them small, since they don't look any better large: click here for the page (Nick took the last shot at the dance).

Nick ran the 4x800m relay on February 12, 2005 (he was third leg). Here's a picture of his starting handoff (blurry but interesting), and here's one where he's gaining on the runner just ahead of him. This short movie (9sec, 2MB) of him passing the guy ahead of him and handing off the baton is available in three file formats: WMV, AVI, and MPG.

Nick ran at the Coaches Invitational on February 6, 2005 in the one mile event. Here's a picture from an early lap, and here's one from a later lap.
